Any type of candle can be used when your working with spirits and there are shops who cater for people who use candles for spiritual use. you can also buy some candles encased in a glass surrounding with either wordery or images printed on, such candles are created to burn for seven days and are known as 7-day candles,nob candles,novena or semana (semana meaning a week in spanish), prayer candles and devotional candles.
The most readily available commercial candles are dedicated to popular Roman Catholic saints,folk saints, & African-Diaspora spirits because considerable consumer demand exists. If you venerate spirits of other traditions, thats ok; dont despair it is also possible to buy blank glass encased candles, where you can use glass paint and paint on a prayer,invoke a deity if you dont feel craftsy enough you could print out an image and glue it onto the glass.
